We are a father and son that love Indianapolis Colts football. We talked enough about it around the house, we figured why not create a podcast. The next step was to come up with a name.

“Un” because we are unofficial, “stable” as a reference to horses, and “Blues” is the main color of our beloved Colts team. From there, we drafted an intro that included talking about our location in the heart of Texas. We decided to include tongue-in-cheek commercials where we talked about the many things our family does. This was to divide segments, but also to build in the capability to do ads if sponsors came along.

We wanted to have a unique voice, so we have several bits that we do such as “risk it for the brisket” where we make a bold prediction, “let er rip,” our blind reaction bit, and “team from Houston update” where we poke fun at the Houston Texans through a sarcastic congratulatory announcement. We also never say “Texans” as we believe they are an illegitimate team formed after Houston forced the Oilers to leave.

From there, we hit record, edit out where we really mess up terribly or have one of our dogs bark crazy. Then we upload it and don’t care who listens because we did this for us. Since we started, we have gotten pretty good at it. We have a good pulse for the team, good understanding of football and pretty good at our weekly Unstable Pick 6, where we predict six games from around the league.
